Organic Cottonseed Meal Fertilizer 5-2-1
Cottonseed Meal 5-2-1 is a single-ingredient slow-release organic fertilizer derived from cottonseed processing. It delivers a complete macronutrient profile — 5% nitrogen, 2% available phosphate (P₂O₅), and 1% soluble potash (K₂O) — released gradually over 4–8 weeks as soil microbes decompose the organic matter, which largely eliminates the foliage burn risk of concentrated synthetic nitrogen.
As it breaks down, cottonseed meal gradually lowers soil pH, making it especially well-suited to blueberries, azaleas, camellias, rhododendrons, and other acid-loving plants. Its low carbon-to-nitrogen ratio also makes it a useful nitrogen boost for compost piles, and the organic matter feeds beneficial soil microbes over time. The source material is non-GMO.
Use it as a pre-plant amendment for vegetable and raised beds, around trees and shrubs, or for new lawn establishment. Spread evenly, work into the top 4–6 inches of soil, and water in thoroughly. It is a dry granular amendment, not water-soluble — not for foliar spraying.
CDFA registered and independently lab tested for heavy metals, with results consistently well below required limits. Keep pets away from freshly applied product until it is worked into soil and watered in.
