Potassium Chloride (Muriate of Potash) 0-0-62
Potassium Chloride Fertilizer 0-0-62, also known as muriate of potash (MOP), is one of the most concentrated and widely used dry potassium fertilizers in agriculture. At 62% soluble potash (K₂O), it is 100% water-soluble and delivers a high amount of potassium per pound, with no nitrogen or phosphorus.
Potassium activates dozens of plant enzymes and regulates water movement, sugar transport, and stress tolerance, making it central to yield and crop quality. Muriate of potash is the workhorse potassium source for chloride-tolerant systems — corn, wheat, barley, soybeans, alfalfa, cotton, sugar beets, and turfgrass — and is well suited to broadcast field application, lawns and turf, and fertigation.
This product contains roughly 47% chloride. That is an advantage on chloride-tolerant crops but a constraint on chloride-sensitive ones — tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, strawberries, grapes, citrus, and tobacco are better served by a sulfate-based potassium source. Potassium chloride also has a high salt index, so confirm potassium need with a soil test, avoid direct seed contact, keep it away from stems and crowns, and water in thoroughly after application. Store sealed and dry.
